Elite Casino Resorts Applies for Nebraska Gaming License

Elite Casino Resorts has submitted its paperwork for its Nebraska gaming license application to build and operate Grand Island’s Fonner Park. The Iowa-based company and Fonner Park are hoping for a speedy response to the application.

Elite Casino Resorts CEO Dan Kehl said: “Should approval be received, Grand Island Casino Resort at Fonner Park will open as a temporary casino inside the existing Fonner Park facility by late 2022 with 300 slot machines, five table games and a grab-and-go dining option.”

Construction of the permanent casino will begin in 2023 and is expected to be completed sometime in 2025. The facility will have a 37,500-square-foot casino floor, 650 slot machines, 20 table games, a retail sportsbook, and a 116-room boutique hotel.

Among the non-gaming amenities are four restaurants which include a rooftop dining option, a show lounge and sports bar, a salon and spa, a gift shop, and an indoor and outdoor pool “with an expansive deck”. The property will also have a 400-stall parking garage.

In April last year, Fonner Park CEO Chris Kotulak said: “The Elite Casino Resorts team has a history of taking care of their employees and being involved in the communities in which they operate. They reinvest in their properties and take pride in the services they deliver to their guests. We could not ask for a better operator or a better partner for our community. And finally, the Elite Casino Resorts facilities and amenities are world class. This is the partner we want for our community.”

Elite Casino Resorts already runs three casino resorts in Iowa; Riverside Casino & Golf Resort, Rhythm City Casino Resort, and Grand Falls Casino & Golf Resort in Larchwood.
