Special Oscar’s Dinner Series to celebrate 30th anniversary of Casino and benefit The Space 2.0 on Nov. 12

Experience an unforgettable night of stories, food and classic Vegas at a special installment of the Oscar’s Dinner Series that will celebrate The Space 2.0 Capital Campaign and the 30th anniversary of the iconic film Casino. This exclusive event takes place Wednesday, Nov. 12 at Oscar’s Steakhouse inside The Plaza Hotel & Casino – the same hotel where Casino filmed several of its most memorable scenes.

Guests are invited to enjoy an intimate evening with the one-and-only Oscar Goodman, former Las Vegas mayor and longtime face of the city’s storied past. During the Nov. 12th dinner, Oscar will share his legendary stories of the alleged mobsters who inspired the movie Casino as well as his own personal experience with filming his scene and hosting the movie’s iconic actors.

The special dinner series event will begin with a cocktail hour at 6 p.m. featuring Flecha Azul Tequila followed by a special three-course dinner created by acclaimed Chef Ben Jenkins with featured wines provided by Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits.

Throughout the meal, Oscar Goodman will share stories and be joined by Mark Shunock, actor, host, philanthropist and owner of The Space. Shunock will share more about his new venture, The Space 2.0, a community center dedicated to supporting those who work in hospitality and entertainment as well as veterans, first responders, construction workers and public education students and educators.

“The partnership between The Space and the Plaza Hotel & Casino is what makes Las Vegas so special,” said Mark Shunock. “It’s a community that shows up for each other – creatives, celebrities, businesses and locals coming together to make magic happen. We’re proud to celebrate that spirit with this event.”

Joining them will be Jonathan Jossel, CEO of the Plaza Hotel & Casino. “From the filming of Casino thirty years ago to the incredible experiences we offer guests today, the Plaza has always been at the heart of Las Vegas’ story,” said Jossel. “Welcoming Oscar Goodman back for his dinner series throughout the year brings historic Vegas to life through his one-of-a-kind stories that only Oscar can tell. This next dinner will surely be entertaining while also supporting a great cause dedicated to supporting the community that Oscar has served for so long.”

The event will conclude with live entertainment on the rooftop patio, celebrating the arts and local performers who make this city the Entertainment Capital of the World.

Limited to just 140 guests, this event promises a one-of-a-kind experience celebrating Las Vegas history while supporting the future of the city. Tickets are $500 per person and available online at thespaceLV.com. Price includes the meal, drinks, and entertainment.

Proceeds will benefit The Space 2.0 Capital Campaign. Once complete, The Space 2.0 will provide mental health services, social and financial assistance, career support, and development tailored to ensure a brighter future for all who live and work in Las Vegas.
