Flashscore deepens commitment to Brazilian football fans with exclusive insights into nation’s sports culture

17 November 2025: Flashscore, the world’s leading live scores and sports data platform, has unveiled new research into the habits of Brazilian sports fans – reinforcing its commitment to understanding and serving one of the most passionate sports communities in the world.

The study was conducted by TGM Research, a global online data and insights company. The independent research gathered insights from more than 3,300 Brazilian adults who had searched for sports results online in the past month. The results reveal a nation that combines deep emotional connection to sport with an increasingly digital, data-driven approach to following teams, tracking matches and players.

Listening to fans, investing in Brazil
Alexandre Vasconcellos, Flashscore Regional Manager for Brazil, said: “This survey is part of Flashscore’s growing commitment to Brazil, where we’ve been investing in local content, partnerships and understanding what fans want. The research helps us make sure we’re building features and communications that work for Brazilian users – whether they’re checking live scores or comparing betting odds. It’s really insightful and will guide our investments in Brazil, especially as we count down to the World Cup.”

A trusted home for live data
Among users familiar with multiple sports information, data and content providers, Flashscore ranked first across key performance metrics – chosen by 53% as the fastest, 47% as the easiest to use, and 48% as their favourite overall.

Vasconcellos said: “This mix of reliable information, speed and easy use makes Flashscore powerful for sports fans and bettors – it really points out our product’s core strengths and the value we bring to all users. That’s why major betting brands see us as a key traffic source in Brazil and globally. We bring together people who want accurate, timely information and give them easy ways to compare and access top bookmakers.

Insights into a data-driven fan base
Football remains at the heart of Brazil’s sporting identity and 70% of respondents said they were interested in football, as well as other sports, with 16% saying they were only interested in football. Only 0.3% of respondents said they had no interest in football.

Away from football, the interest in non-football sports produced interesting results, with futsal (37%) more popular than tennis (31%) and esports (29%) surpassing American football (24%). Formula 1 led all non-football sports at 59%, followed closely by basketball (57%) and volleyball (54%).

When asked which sport they had started following most recently, Formula 1 (17%), basketball (14%) and combat sports (13%) were the top trending sports.

An increased appetite for betting
The study also revealed insight into Brazilian sports fans’ attitudes towards betting. According to the findings, 88% of bettors bet on football in the last 90 days, ahead of basketball (23%) and esports (16%) – highlighting the app’s deep engagement among active sports followers.

The typical bettor now holds an average of 3.4 sportsbook accounts, reflecting a highly competitive and sophisticated market where fans value transparency, reliability and choice.

The most popular betting market was match result, with 58%, ahead of both teams to score (49%) and total goals (over / under), with 48%.

Greg Laski, CEO at TGM Research, said: “This research highlights how deeply sport is woven into Brazil’s cultural identity and how digital platforms are transforming the way fans connect, consume, and interact with sports content. Our role at TGM Research is to provide independent, data-driven insights that help organizations better understand their audiences and make informed decisions.

Powering the next chapter for Brazilian fans Flashscore’s focus on Brazil continues to grow through product improvements, localised content and new partnerships that bring fans closer to the action.
