Is this the casino that could reinvent Las Vegas? We asked an AI to come up with a new concept to bring the tourists back to The Strip

An AI has designed the casino concept of the future to reverse Las Vegas’ decline, creating 7,000 jobs and generating $4bn in annual revenues.

Online slots provider Prime Casino commissioned a study into what the next generation of attractions could look like to bring visitors back to The Strip by offering something new and different to the current scene.

These findings were then fed into an AI that was instructed to produce a concept in response to this information and a brief to reinvent the Las Vegas casino experience based on current trends.

The resulting casino concept would cost an estimated $4.5bn to build due to the value of land on the Las Vegas Strip plus materials and labor, but would set a new trend for the city by merging casinos, live events and skill-based games.

According to Google Gemini: “The Prime Casino concept is a comprehensive and evidence-based blueprint for the future of Las Vegas tourism.

“It is a calculated response to a changing market, not a blind bet. The report’s findings confirm that the project’s strategic pillars are robust and aligned with contemporary market trends and consumer desires.

“It is what a modern Las Vegas resort should be: a true entertainment hub that is financially resilient, technologically advanced, and laser-focused on delivering an exceptional, consumer-first experience. It is positioned not just to compete, but to redefine what it means to be a mega-resort on the Las Vegas Strip.”

Key findings from the Prime Casino study:

For the first half of 2025, visitation to Las Vegas fell by a steep 7.3% compared to the same period in 2024, marking the “steepest decline in years” as per Worldcasinodirectory.com.

According to The Nevada Independent, this has been due to “ever-higher resort fees” and other factors such as the cost of parking. Visitors have voiced their frustrations with the sense of “sticker shock” over a “$12 bagel and $4 sodas” making Las Vegas a hostile destination for those on a budget.

However, the financial model of Las Vegas has inverted from its historical reliance on gambling. While gaming once accounted for ~75% of a resort’s total revenue, today, properties like Wynn, MGM, and Caesars generate only 23-28% of their revenue from gaming operations, as per the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

The global experience economy is currently valued at over $1 trillion, and consumers are willing to pay a premium of 20-50% for interactive, memorable events. Venues like Meow Wolf, which generate over $1 million per month in revenue, prove the viability of this model, as reported by Impact Alpha.

The American Gaming Association reports that almost 70% of casino patrons are interested in using digital payments on the gaming floor. Studies show cashless players can increase their average spend by up to 25%. Early adopters, such as Resorts World Las Vegas, have demonstrated the viability of a mobile-first, cashless system for all on-site amenities.

A study by TRoc Global, found that 80% of shoppers prioritize a frictionless shopping experience with the use of Just Walk Out technology directly countering the consumer frustration with surge pricing and a lack of price transparency in traditional Las Vegas stores.

An AI-driven mobile app can build on this to provide a seamless guest experience by instantly answering common questions and managing requests, allowing staff to focus on higher-value interactions.

Key features of the casino concept:

  • 150,000 square foot gaming floor with 1,500 slot machines, 70% video slots, 15% video poker, 10% high-limit slots, and 5% novelty and themed machines.

  • 150 table games including blackjack, craps, roulette and baccarat with a dedicated 18,000 square foot high-limit area for more exclusive experiences.

  • A state-of-the-art theater with 15,000-seater capacity designed for A-list residencies, sporting events and large corporate events.

  • A 30,000 square foot esports arena with a spectator capacity of 650 seats including a competition stage, 50-foot LED video wall, and a dedicated broadcast studio.

  • Immersive entertainment district with pulsed and ticketed Experience Hubs that feature regularly updated content, such as interactive art installations and multiplayer VR/AR adventures.

  • 3,500 guest rooms and suites across three tiers: 2,5000 standard rooms, 800 premium suites and 200 luxury penthouses.

  • A digital concierge accessible through a proprietary, AI-driven mobile app with in-room smart controls and mobile keys on devices that work via Bluetooth. This app would act as an experience engine to provide personalized recommendations and enhance guest loyalty.

  • Cashless wagering, RFID chips for table games, and acceptance of select cryptocurrencies and non-gaming transactions.

  • A 300,000 square foot convention space with the flexibility to host meetings, events and banquets as required.

  • Over 30 distinct food and beverage concepts including signature fine dining, casual eateries and a large promenade food hall inspired by global street food markets.

  • Approximately 75,000 square foot esplanade featuring a curated mix of luxury and experiential retail, with innovative cashier-less stories and Just Walk Out technology.

  • A transparent, Anti-Fee pricing model to eliminate mandatory resort fees and parking charges.

  • Integrated mass transit system to shuttle guests to other key Las Vegas attractions from inside the casino, allowing it to be used as a hub for all visitors, whether they are staying on-site or at another location in the city.

Key benefits of the casino concept:

  • Projected to generate annual revenues of $2.5 billion to $4.0 billion through diversified revenue streams designed to be resilient with ~75% of revenue generated from non-gaming sources.

  • These sources include a diverse mix of hotel rooms, a wide variety of food and beverage options, entertainment, and retail. This diversification makes the property more resilient to economic downturns

  • 6,000 to 7,000 jobs created with a ripple effect to support local businesses and increase consumer spending in the broader Las Vegas economy.

  • This new mega-resort would contribute billions to the state’s total economic output, which was a record-setting $98 billion in 2024 for the industry as a whole.

  • This new casino would contribute to Nevada’s tax stream, with the industry as a whole providing 34% of the state’s general fund tax revenue in 2022.

  • The concept would also benefit Las Vegas as a whole by directly responding to the generational shift in consumer behaviour where younger generations prefer active, participatory experiences over passive ones. The resort would generate revenue from attractions like a state-of-the-art esports arena and immersive experiences that are continuously updated to encourage repeat visitation.

  • The scale of the resort would allow it to achieve economies of scale in areas like purchasing, labor efficiency, and marketing, making it more profitable than smaller casinos.

  • The resort would attract visitors to its property but it also has the potential to benefit other attractions. The success of a major public-facing attraction can generate immense foot traffic, as seen with the Bellagio Fountains, which attract 15 million visitors annually. This casino concept’s ability to draw millions of visitors could help increase foot traffic for nearby attractions, shops, and restaurants, creating a broader economic uplift for the city.

Methodology

Prime Casino commissioned a study into the current trends in visitor numbers, casino revenues and developments in Las Vegas. This information was then given to Google Gemini to use its Deep Research feature to produce a report on designing the best casino concept to answer the challenges and opportunities presented by the study.

This report was then queried for further details on specific aspects of the casino with Google Gemini’s image creation function employed to generate renders of the casino concept in position on the Las Vegas Strip.
