Bill King Joins The Sports Leadership Show!
This Week, Wayne Kimmel had a conversation with Bill King, Senior Writer at the Sports Business Journal (SBJ), on the SeventySix Capital Sports Leadership Show.
King is SBJ’s lead reporter on the sports betting industry. He is also a contributor to SBJ’s In-Depth stories, Special Report coverage and profiles, in addition to covering boxing, MMA and the field of sports business education. He has won numerous national and regional writing awards since joining SBJ in 1998.
Recently, King exclusively covered U.S. Integrity‘s joint venture with LEARFIELD to provide collegiate athletics departments monitoring, education, and advisory services with BetDetect, and announced SeventySix Capital‘s initial close of its second sports-focused venture capital fund.

BCLC has launched a Scratch & Win ticket that is a win-win for both the Top Prize winner and their registered B.C. charity of choice.
The Greater Good Giveaway ticket offers a Top Prize of $10,000 for the winner and $10,000 for their registered charity of choice, selected from a list of British Columbia charities on CanadaHelps.
Thomas D’Cruz from Richmond is the first Top Prize winner for Greater Good Giveaway. D’Cruz selected the B.C. Children’s Hospital Foundation to receive the $10,000 charity prize, sharing that he “wanted to help children.” The winning ticket was purchased at Walmart on Alderbridge Way in Richmond.
There are over 12,000 registered B.C. charities on CanadaHelps for Top Prize winners to select from that support a variety of different causes, including arts and culture, education, social services and more.

In 2024, B.C. lottery players have redeemed more than $137 million in winnings from Scratch & Win.
Since 1985, BCLC has delivered more than $29 billion to the provincial government to support communities, provincial programs and services, charities and major events that have helped shape B.C.
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) reported today that the combined total revenue generated from all forms of gaming along with fantasy contests during April 2025 was $558,717,922, an increase of 10.7% from last April.
The following chart compiles all revenue generated in April 2025 by casinos, along with fantasy contests and VGTs operated by other vendors and includes a comparison to total revenue generated in April 2024.

Video Gaming Terminals
Total adjusted revenue for April 2025 for video gaming terminals (VGTs) was $3,518,821, 3.55% lower than April 2024 when revenue was $3,648,270. By the end of April 2025, all VGT Operators offered the maximum permitted five machines at each of the 74 qualified truck stop establishments, compared to five machines at each of the 74 establishments at this time last year.
