Red Knot, the PR and communications agency specializing in sports, sports betting and gaming with offices in the U.S., the UK, Asia and Latin America, announced the continued expansion of its U.S. senior team with the hiring of Mauricio Villarreal as Director of Media Relations & Communications, U.S. and Latin America.

A bilingual PR and communications expert, Villarreal has led media relations efforts and created and managed bilingual content strategies for multiple sports organizations including Real Madrid C.F., the New York Cosmos and more recently Major League Soccer teams, the Portland Timbers and Austin FC.

Villarreal, who holds an M.A. in Communications and Sports Journalism from Universidad Europea de Madrid (Spain) and a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, brings more than 10 years of experience in bilingual public relations, marketing, and intercultural communication to Red Knot.
