Betting on Sports America hits major leagues with sporting delegates



Teams from all of the major professional sports leagues across the US are flocking to Betting on Sports America, the biggest dedicated sports betting trade show in the country taking place at the Meadowlands Exposition Center in New Jersey from 23-25 April.

Representatives from teams in the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and MLS, as well as from international leagues such as La Liga will be attending Betting on Sports America, including the Los Angeles Rams, New York Jets, Miami Dolphins, New York Knicks, Charlotte Hornets, Philadelphia 76-ers, Cleveland Cavaliers, New Jersey Devils, Texas Rangers, Philadelphia Union and New York Red Bulls.

The agenda will touch on a number of issues interesting to sports teams, such as data, integrity and sponsorship. Among the 175 speakers across the two days are: Keith Wachtel, Chief Revenue Officer and Executive Vice President at NHL; Scott Kaufman-Ross, Head of Fantasy & Gaming at NBA; Andy Levinson, SVP – Tournament Administration at PGA Tour; Dennis Drazin, CEO at Monmouth Park racetrack; Joe Januszewski, CRO at Texas Rangers; Shelly Cayette, VP, Global Partnerships at Cleveland Cavaliers; Bill Ordower, EVP and General Counsel, Major League Soccer; and Kenny Gersh, EVP Gaming & New Business, MLB.

The agenda also features three members of US sports royalty in the shape of MLB superstar Ryan Howard and Philadelphia Eagles legend Brian Westbrook, who will be discussing investment in the sports industry, and NFL record holder and Hall of Famer Morten Andersen, who will talk about the NFL’s ability to reach audiences.

Sports betting revenue declines in Rhode Island



Rhode Island has released its legal sports betting revenue results, which points to a decline in revenues for the first time. The loss is attributed to higher player winnings offsetting an increase in sportsbook handle.

The difference between the handle and the win rate is what has made the state report a revenue loss in February. Players wagered US$20.7 million on sports in February 2019, which is US$1.6 million higher than what they had wagered in January, when the state registered US$19.1 million in handle. However, consumers also enjoyed a higher win rate and registered US$21.6 million in winnings.

Twin River Lincoln accepted US$16.6 million in wagers during February operations, but with a win rate of US$17.6 million it made the facility make a loss of US$908k. On the other hand, Twin River Tiverton registered US$4.03 million in sports wagers and customers won US$4.02 million, therefore the facility posted revenue of US$17.6k.

We all know there are both paved and unpaved ways that anyone can choose to follow. And then there’s a special way to Latin America that’s definitely worth taking. Hard Rock International Reveals Next Gaming Property – Hard Rock Casino Cincinnati



Purchases JACK Cincinnati Casino with VICI Properties Inc.


With a presence spanning more than 75 countries, Hard Rock International is expanding its global gaming portfolio, announcing a collaboration with VICI Properties Inc. (VICI) to acquire the JACK Cincinnati Casino. Through the joint purchase, Hard Rock will acquire the operating assets of the casino, rebranding it Hard Rock Casino Cincinnati, while VICI will own the land and real estate assets.

“Hard Rock has been the number one operator in Ohio since opening in the greater Cleveland market in 2013,” said Jim Allen, chairman and CEO of Hard Rock International. “And now, we look forward to introducing our unique brand of casino entertainment to Cincinnati. JACK Cincinnati is situated on 22 acres in the Broadway Commons area of downtown Cincinnati. Morten Andersen to speak at betting on Sports America



Morten Andersen, Better Collective ambassador, is going to deliver a keynote speech at this month’s Betting on Sports America conference to be held at Meadowlands Exposition Center in New Jersey on April 23–25. Andersen holds the all-time record for most games played in the NFL. Denmark-based igaming affiliate, Better Collective, is a key sponsor of the event.
