Detroit Casinos Report $107.4M in October Revenue

 

The Michigan Gaming Control Board has reported that Detroit’s three casinos—MGM Grand Detroit, MotorCity Casino, and Hollywood Casino at Greektown—collectively generated $107.4 million in revenue for October 2025.

Table games and slot machines accounted for $105.9 million of the monthly total, while retail sports betting contributed $1.5 million.

October 2025 Market Share

• MGM Grand Detroit: 49%

• MotorCity Casino: 29%

• Hollywood Casino at Greektown: 22%

Table Games and Slot Machine Revenue

Revenue from table games and slots increased by 2.2% compared with October 2024 and 7.9% from September 2025. From January 1 through October 31, combined table games and slots revenue was down 1.1% year-over-year.

Casino-specific revenues compared to October 2024 were:

• MGM Grand Detroit: $52.7 million, up 6.6%

• MotorCity Casino: $30.5 million, down 3.8%

• Hollywood Casino at Greektown: $22.7 million, up 0.8%

The three casinos paid $8.6 million in state gaming taxes in October 2025, up from $8.4 million in October 2024. They also submitted $13.1 million in wagering taxes and development agreement payments to the City of Detroit.

Retail Sports Betting Revenue

In October 2025, the casinos reported a combined retail sports betting handle of $13.5 million, generating $1.6 million in total gross receipts. Qualified adjusted gross receipts (QAGR) from retail sports betting increased by $2.4 million from October 2024 and $794,016 from September 2025.

• MGM Grand Detroit: $27,258

• MotorCity Casino: $786,929

• Hollywood Casino at Greektown: $727,254

The casinos paid $58,266 in state taxes from retail sports betting revenue and submitted $71,215 in wagering taxes to the City of Detroit.

Fantasy Contests

Fantasy contest operators reported $986,178 in adjusted revenues for September 2025 and paid $82,839 in taxes.
