Coljuegos Grants Concession for Keno

Colombian regulator Coljuegos has awarded a concession for Keno, a novel game projected to generate more than $485 billion in monopoly revenue over the next five years.

Keno has been licensed in four regions of Colombia, including all 32 departments. According to market research, sales of this innovative game are estimated to exceed $2.3 billion.

“The gaming concession was awarded through an open process for all operators interested in participating. We are pleased to inform the public that the award was carried out transparently and with a plurality of bidders,” said Marco Emilio Hincapié, president of Coljuegos.

The four regions are as follows:

Region One: Arauca, Casanare, Cauca, Chocó, Córdoba, Guainía, Guaviare, Nariño, Sucre, Valle del Cauca, Vaupés, and Vichada. Operated by: Keno SAS Regional Operator

Region Two: San Andrés, Atlántico, Bolívar, Cesar, Guajira, Magdalena, and Norte de Santander. Operated by: Costa Operador Keno SAS

Region Three: Antioquia, Caldas, Quindío, Risaralda, and Santander. Operated by: Keno Region 3 SAS

Region Four: Amazonas, Bogotá, Boyacá, Caquetá, Cundinamarca, Huila, Meta, Putumayo, and Tolima. Operated by: Blinkazar SAS

Thus, each operator will have a four-month pre-operational period, during which they must adapt everything necessary for the effective sale of the game from the start of operations (January 2026).

“In total, we expect to have more than 16,000 sales terminals across the country. With this, we seek to expand the offering for gamblers and consolidate the games of chance sector as a fundamental pillar of the national economy,” said Hincapié.

Keno is a game of chance in which players select 10 numbers between 01 and 80 and compare them with the results of the 20 tickets drawn by a Random Number Generator in each draw. Prizes are paid out based on the number of numbers matched by the player.

Players will also be able to purchase tickets through physical locations or digital marketing channels. Each bet can be between $1000 and a maximum of $20,000, and the maximum prize a player can initially win will be up to $1.68 billion. Additionally, prizes may vary depending on the value of each bet.

Another feature that makes Keno attractive to players is the frequency of the draws, which will take place every 6 to 10 minutes from Sunday to Sunday. Thus, between 144 and 240 draws will be held daily (depending on the frequency chosen by the operator), which will be broadcast on digital channels such as YouTube and websites, among others.
