Amendment to NGC Regulation 5.240: Service Provider Registrations

On October 24, 2019, the Nevada Gaming Commission adopted amendments to Nevada Gaming Commission Regulation 5.240, pertaining to the licensing of Service Providers. The amendments included converting a Service Provider license to a Service Provider registration pursuant to NGC Regulation 5.240(22) as follows:

22. All service provider licenses issued by the Commission prior to July 1, 2019 shall remain valid until such licenses expire on December 31, 2019. Any service provider, as defined pursuant to this section, holding a service provider license issued by the Commission as of December 31, 2019, shall be deemed registered as a service provider with the Board as follows: (a) Until March 2, 2020 if the service provider license was initially issued prior to January 1, 2015; or (b) For five years following the date of the initial issuance of the service provider license if the service provider license was initially issued on or after January 1, 2015. (Adopted: 12/11. Amended: 8/12; 9/12; 4/16; 10/19.)

Any licensed Cash Access and Wagering Instrument or Information Technology Service Provider licensed prior to January 1, 2015, desiring to continue providing products or services must submit an application to be registered as an Information Technology and/or Cash Access and Wagering Instrument Service Provider by December 15, 2019. If a Service Provider fails to file for the required registration, its license will expire on December 31, 2019, and the company will no longer be able to provide products or services to Nevada gaming licensees.

Any questions regarding the above should be directed to the Investigations Division Applicant Services office of the Nevada Gaming Control Board, at 775-684-7800.
