Colossus Bets obtains totalizator license in Oregon

Colossus Bets, a London-based pools betting provider, has obtained a license from the Oregon Racing Commission to operate a totalizator.

With this license, Colossus Bets can now allow North American betting operators to access its horse racing pools through its own microsite technology.

Colossus Bets’ chief executive Bernard Marantelli said: “We are looking forward to bringing the Colossus formula of lotto-sized jackpots with leg-by-leg Cash Out and crowdfunded syndicates to North American horseplayers. It will be the first time Cash Out on racing has been offered in the US.

“The Oregon Racing Commission is a progressive and forward-looking regulator with most top tier operators on its register, so it is especially pleasing to join their ranks.”

“Increasing our US regulatory footprint will also accelerate the launch of our patented Cash Out feature on existing US horse racing pools.”

Jack McGrail, executive director of the Oregon Racing Commission, said: “We are pleased to award this licence to Colossus Bets and we welcome the innovation they will bring to pari-mutuel betting on horse racing, for our licensees and their players.”
