BP (Michael Diaz-Cruz) Scores Franchise-Record 46 Points in Game 2 As Part of Sweep Over Magic Gaming

Last night, in front of an international viewing audience, Hawks Talon Gaming Club, the official NBA 2K League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks, was victorious in two games as part of a best-of-three series over Magic Gaming, the official affiliate of the Orlando Magic. The results of each game were 69-55 and 89-53.

“We knew that this series was big for us,” Hawks Talon GC’s Team Manager and Head Coach Wesley Acuff said. “We are thrilled with how everyone contributed so that we could beat a gifted team in Magic Gaming. With another big series on Friday, we will try to replicate tonight’s success against Kings Guard Gaming.”

In the first game of the evening, Hawks Talon overcame an 11-point deficit at the end of the first quarter to win by a final score of 69-55. Atlanta’s own KEL (Mykel Wilson) led the team with 28 points and five assists, and BP (Michael Diaz-Cruz) finished with 19 points and six assists. LEE (Lee Lamb) finished just shy of the team’s first triple-double performance of season with 14 points, 13 rebounds, nine assists and a game-high four blocks. FOLLOWTHEGOD (Kwan Niblack Jr.) contributed with five points, and MRSTYLEZ (Andrew Valle) finished with five rebounds and a game-high five seven steals.

In the second game, Hawks Talon’s BP scored a franchise-record 46 points and added six assists. KEL added 25 points and three assists. LEE tallied his first non-scoring double-double performance of his career after totaling 16 rebounds and a career-high 10 assists. He added a game-high five blocks. FOLLOWTHEGOD added six points and four assists. Rounding out the group was MRSTYLEZ who contributed with five points, six rebounds and four steals.

Hawks Talon (4-5) will continue its remote gameplay for at least two more weeks. At 9 p.m. ET on Friday, July 10, the club will compete in a best-of-three series against Kings Guard Gaming, the official affiliate of the Sacramento Kings. These games will air live on ESPN’s digital platforms and the NBA 2K League’s Twitch and YouTube channels.

Global Esports Federation confirms program for Los Angeles 2026 Global Esports Games

The Global Esports Federation at its 16^th Board Meeting approved the draft program for the Los Angeles 2026 Global Esports Games, to be held in December 2026. This follows the earlier announcement of Los Angeles as host city at a major ceremony hosted by Los Angeles Times Media Group Executive Chairman & CEO Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, and El Segundo Mayor Chris Pimentel—now marking a significant milestone on the road to GEF’s flagship event in the United States.

The GEF Board also unanimously elected Paul J. Foster as President of the Global Esports Federation. Paul, who is GEF Chief Executive Officer, was appointed President ad interim following the resignation of founding President Chris Chan in July, and now assumes the role of President & CEO through December 2027.
