Internet Vikings Becomes the First and Only Hosting Provider Offering Redundancy in West Virginia

Internet Vikings, the first-to-market licensed in-state hosting provider for the sports betting and iGaming sector in the U.S., held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its West Virginia data center. The company is the first and the only redundant hosting provider in West Virginia, offering the market the resilience it needs.

West Virginia solidifies its position as a pivotal U.S. hub for sports betting and iGaming, aligning with Michigan, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, as the fourth state to offer online sports betting, online casino, and poker. With a second data center in Charleston, WV, Internet Vikings provides companies the opportunity to gain a competitive advantage, benefiting from operational redundancy that ensures uninterrupted services in the face of unforeseen disruptions.

The official opening took place at the CityNet facility in Charlestown on September 12th. Rickard Vikström, CEO and Founder of Internet Vikings, graced the event alongside Drew Pomeroy, Senior Vice President of CityNet, conducting the ceremonial ribbon-cutting.

For the iGaming and sports betting industry, where real-time interactions and seamless user experiences are paramount, redundancy translates to heightened reliability during peak usage times and protection against potential disruptions. Internet Vikings recognize this significance, and redundancy serves as the cornerstone of its data center strategy.

Rickard Vikström affirmed: “This expansion underscores our ongoing commitment to supporting the market both nationally and in West Virginia reaffirming to our customers our endurance and continued service development in the United States.”

Drew Pomeroy stated, “We are enthusiastic about our role in contributing to Internet Vikings’ efforts in advancing the market and industry development.”

Looking ahead, Internet Vikings envisions further expansion in the U.S. market, introducing innovative solutions to a broader spectrum of stakeholders. This dedication extends to existing and prospective clients in West Virginia and beyond, offering premium hosting support to empower seamless and secure iGaming and sports betting experience.
