Ventures Lab selects mkodo’s GeoLocs geolocation tech for Ontario launch

Ventures Lab has selected mkodo’s GeoLocs geolocation product to support its next-generation online gaming site, Miki, as it launches in Ontario.

According to the companies, the integration is designed to help ensure Ontario-based players can access Miki in a way that meets local regulatory requirements, using GeoLocs’ browser-based geolocation technology. The supplier said the approach aims to verify a player’s location without requiring an additional app download.

Ventures Lab said it chose GeoLocs based on its experience in Canada, including supporting regulated operators in Alberta for five years, as well as its browser-based implementation. “We selected mkodo as our partner because of their proven expertise in delivering seamless and compliant mobile experiences. Their technology and collaborative approach have been instrumental in supporting our launch in Ontario. We look forward to building on this partnership as we continue to expand our presence in regulated markets.” – Carlos Strazzer, CEO at Ventures Labs

mkodo Commercial Director Will Whitehead said the company expects the partnership to expand GeoLocs’ presence in Canada. “We’re delighted to partner with Ventures Lab as they bring Miki to players across Ontario. Their vision for delivering a seamless, engaging gaming experience aligns closely with our commitment to providing trusted, accurate and frictionless geolocation technology. We look forward to supporting their growth in the regulated Canadian market and helping ensure players can access their platform seamlessly and securely.” – Will Whitehead, Commercial Director at mkodo

The deal underscores the ongoing importance of geolocation services in Ontario’s regulated online gambling market, where operators must ensure play occurs within provincial boundaries.
