BLAST to Bring Top-Tier Esports Events to Singapore in 2024 and 2025

Esports entertainment company BLAST has announced plans to host two popular esports events in Singapore in 2024 and 2025.
BLAST will bring both world-class Counter-Strike and Dota 2 tournaments to the heart of Southeast Asia, marking a major step in Singapore’s emergence as an esports and gaming hub. Supported by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), these high-profile events will bring the worldâs best esports teams and players from all across the world to compete in Singapore.
BLAST has teamed up with AEG Presents Asia, one of the worldâs largest live entertainment entities to bring these events to Singapore. The partnership forms part of BLASTâs ambition to create the best esports experiences by working closely with premier destinations and the biggest and best live entertainment partners.
More than half of global esports views (57%) are estimated to come from the Asia Pacific region, 47% more than any other region in the world with the global market valued at $1.6 billion.
By bringing the top-tier Counter-Strike and Dota 2 tournaments to Singapore, BLAST aims
to attract global esports talent, foster local growth, and elevate Singapore’s status as a destination for world-class esports entertainment.

The World Final 2024 will take place from 30th October – 3rd November and will be the first BLAST event to take place in Singapore, followed by the BLAST Dota Slam in 2025. The World Final will be the biggest Counter-Strike event to take place in Singapore, where the worldâs best eight Counter-Strike teams will compete for a massive prize pool of $1,000,000 and the chance to claim bragging rights as the best team around.
Qualified World Final teams: NAVI, Team Spirit, Team Vitality, FaZe Clan and G2 Esports.

PrizePicks Named Official Daily Fantasy Partner of The Houston Astros

BMM INNOVATION GROUP NAMES JOHN HELDERMAN AS CHIEF FINANCIAL & ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER

BMM Innovation Group, a technology conglomerate focused on product compliance testing, training, and cybersecurity solutions for the global gaming industry, today announced the appointment of John Helderman as Chief Financial & Administrative Officer.
With more than two decades of executive leadership in the gaming, finance, hospitality, and nonprofit sectors, Helderman brings extensive experience in financial strategy, operational oversight, and enterprise transformation. In his role, Helderman will help drive continued growth and strategic execution for the BIG Group.

He also held CFO roles at Bluberi Gaming and The Brennan Entities, modernizing financial systems, enhancing operational efficiency, and supporting liquidity management during critical growth periods.
Earlier in his career, Helderman served as President & Chief Executive Officer of Goodwill Industries of Southern Nevada, where he led a financial turnaround that improved operating income tenfold. He also held senior finance roles at Caesars Entertainment, including Vice President of Finance and Capital Planning, managing large-scale budgeting and investment strategies across multiple Las Vegas Strip properties.
Helderman earned a Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina School of Law and bachelorâs degrees in business management and economics from North Carolina State University. He is a licensed attorney in both Georgia and North Carolina and serves on the board of Goodwill Industries of Southern Nevada.

PGCB to Hold Public Hearing on License Renewal of Live! Casino Pittsburgh

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (Board) will hold a hearing on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 to receive public comment on the renewal of the Category 4 Slot Machine Operator License for Stadium Casino Westmoreland RE LLC, operator of Live! Casino Pittsburgh in Westmoreland County.
The hearing will begin at 10:30 am and be held at the Township of Hempfield Municipal Building, 1132 Woodward Drive, Greensburg, PA 15601.
Citizens, public officials, and community groups can choose to speak or submit written testimony. The hearing is open to the public.
Individuals who wish to provide in-person or written testimony should visit the Boardâs website, gamingcontrolboard.pa.gov, and choose the special link in the Regular Board Meetings and Special Meetings section on the homepage for more information and registration. Persons wishing to provide comment will need to register ahead of time. The deadline for registration to speak or submit written testimony is noon on Monday, June 9.
A listing of all government officials, community groups, and individuals who have registered to speak at this hearing will be posted on the Boardâs website beginning the week prior to the hearing and updated daily.
