PAGCOR turns over P3.46 million worth of relief aid to provinces hit by Florita

Just a day after severe Tropical Storm Florita lashed some provinces in northern Luzon, the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation’s (PAGCOR) new top management immediately sent a team to distribute relief goods to the affected localities on August 25 to 26, 2022.

PAGCOR turned over a total of 6,000 food packs and non-food items worth P3.46 million to the provinces of Cagayan and Isabela, which were among the hardest hit provinces.

Bonifacio Cuarteros, Cagayan Chief of Center Management Division and Focal Person on Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) Disaster Response Relief said their agricultural crops was heavily damaged by Florita. The province reportedly lost about P344 million worth of agricultural products.

Bonifacio also thanked PAGCOR for their donation and prompt response.

Isabela PSWDO Officer Lucila Ambatali likewise expressed her gratitude to PAGCOR for the relief goods they have donated to the province.

Maraming salamat PAGCOR. Sana wala ng susunod pang disaster,” she expressed.

According to Ambatali, more than 6,700 individuals in 43 barangays were affected in Isabela. “Most of the damages ay sa northern portion ng province lalo na yung nasa coastal towns.” #
