Huddle Agrees to Technical Agreement with Sporting Group in North America
Igaming technology provider Huddle has signed terms to become an ongoing technology partner with betting and gaming operator Sporting Group as it expands its B2B offerings in North America.
In this partnership, AI and data-driven businesses will work on a series of projects with a focus on the US and Canada to further automate and drive efficiency and revenue in some of Sporting Groupâs key betting products and markets.
Huddle and its growing team of software engineering experts will focus on several of the Sporting Groupâs US sports products and services as the operator expands its global reach into regulated and newly regulated states and provinces in 2022 and beyond.
Huddle unleashes the true potential of data and builds highly proprietary technology solutions designed to create a wide range of automation products for gaming operators.
Launched in late 2020, the firm raised $3m in venture capital seed funding. The business is building a series of automated products leveraging a microservices model â developing and deploying components, the first of which are trading, odds feeds and risk technology.
Sporting Group, part of Groupe FDJ, is one of the worldâs leading names in sports betting technology and trading, with two principal divisions â a B2C operation, the pre-eminent sports spread betting company, and a rapidly growing B2B operation which supplies real-time pricing and sports trading capabilities to sportsbooks around the world.
Francesco Borgosano, CEO and co-founder of Huddle, said: We are excited to work with such a great brand that has been a leader in the betting industry for many years and continues to grow and expand under Andyâs leadership.
âNorth America is a major focus in this sector, with more states and states going online every month. We are familiar with advanced AI and data-driven technology and are the largest betting brands and suppliers. With some years of experience, together we are developing intelligence-based automated products that we believe unleash the true potential of both brands and providers.â
Andy Wright, CEO of Sporting Group, said: âThe Huddle team are some of the sharpest and most progressive brains in betting technology and weâre delighted to be working in partnership with them as we continue to expand our sophisticated Trading and Risk Management services into the global sports betting market.
âIâm confident they will add significant value to us, as Sporting Solutions continues to move into new territories focusing on new products and innovation. I look forward to seeing some great things happen next year.â

Tennessee Sports Wagering Council Takes Action Against Illegal Sportsbook
The Tennessee Sports Wagering Council through its executive director issued $50,000 in fines to Bovada.lv, an unlicensed and therefore illegal sportsbook operating in Tennessee.
Bovada failed to comply with cease and desist letters delivered to addresses in Curaçao, and Council investigators placed wagers through Bovadaâs platform on three separate occasions, including as recently as October 16, 2024.
The Sports Gaming Act authorizes the Council to impose a $10,000 fine for the first offense of accepting wagers without a license, which rises to $15,000 for the second offense, and $25,000 for the third offense. Subsequent offenses may lead to the imposition of a $25,000 fine for each occurrence, an occurrence being a single wager accepted in Tennessee.
In the cease and desist letters, the Council ordered Bovada to allow all Tennessee users to withdraw any funds currently held by the unlicensed sportsbook.
âThe Sports Wagering Council recommends that Tennessee users of Bovada withdraw their funds immediately. Our primary role is the protection of the public interest through a safe, regulated environment, and Tennessee sports bettors need to know that just because they can access a sports betting website or app inside Tennesseeâs borders does not mean it is licensed to do business here,â Mary Beth Thomas, Executive Director of Tennessee Sports Wagering Council, said.
Legal sportsbook operators provide important bettor protections not found in the illegal market. If an individual wagers with unlicensed sportsbooks, their sensitive financial and personal information may not be protected and could even be shared with criminal enterprises. The bettorâs money could be withheld or disappear without a way to recover it.
The SWC is working closely with its network of law enforcement at the state and federal level to eradicate illegal sportsbooks such as Bovada and others.
Tennessee is the largest âonline-onlyâ sports betting market in the US, with more than $4.7 billion wagered in Tennessee last fiscal year through online sportsbooks licensed by the Council.
