New York to Allow Casinos to Open Again Soon

Andrew Cuomo, the governor of New York state, has stated the state’s plan for the reopening casinos.

The state’s four commercial casinos and 11 racinos, which were closed in March due to the Covid-19 breakout, will be re-opening soon.

Casino workers had staged protests against indefinite lockdown of casinos.

Cuomo addressed the workers’ concerns: “I understand their point. I understand the economic reality, I understand the feeling that you see other things, other places opening up but you still can’t get back to work.”

He added, however, that he was concerned about how casinos would carry out social distancing.
